It is undeniable that Indonesia has a remarkably diverse landscape. Even in the midst of shady forests and tropical beaches, you can find a stretch of desert like what you can see at Busung Desert. This location was once a bauxite mining site which has now transformed into a beautiful desert, and it is almost similar like those in the Middle East! However, since this place has not been fully developed as a tourist destination, this place is still relatively quiet even though the access to the desert is not too difficult. You can see it right on the edge of Jalan Raya Busung. The downside is that this place is not accessible using public transportation.

6. Look at beautiful lakes with surreal panoramas at Blue Lake, Kawal.
Address:  Gn. Kijang, Kec. Gn. Kijang, Kabupaten Bintan, Kepulauan Riau
Entrance Ticket: IDR 5.000,00.

Even though the color of water in Blue Lake and Bintan’s ocean are both blue, but for some reasons the blue water from this lake is much more hypnotic. The view in this magical place looks even more spectacular with the contrasting white sand dunes around. It is so beautiful which you certainly would not suspect that this lake was not created naturally. This lake was a result of mining activities that are still being conducted. Blue Lake is still relatively quiet so that you can take as many pictures as you want as long as you obey the rules and don’t forget to stay careful during your visit.
